This course introduces students to growth and development across the life span. Students will be introduced to the major theories that support life span development and the influencing factors. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the stages of growth and development, from conception through to aging including the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social perspectives of people at these different stages. Considerations to be taken into account at each stage will be a focus of student learning. This course will provide students with knowledge that is fundamental to providing appropriate nursing care to patients of different ages.
